Mridangam (Percussion Instrument)

Mridangam is an important 'Percussion Instrument' used in all forms of Carnatic Music concerts, the widely known 'South Indian Classical Music'.
Mridangam makes a concert complete with soothing rhythm enhancing the overall concert. The Mridangam, known as the double headed drum, is believed to be amongst the most ancient of drums.
A divine instrument, Mridangam is said to have been played by Lord Shiva and Nandhi Devar. It is the main percussion instrument used in Carnatic concerts and is known as the

Syllabus

The syllabus of Mridangam is very well conceived and structured and has been painstakingly prepared to create a strong curriculum. It is also an invaluable resource for students, guiding them in the systematic preparation for the various levels. Playing the instrument with perfect fingering technique is a must for a mridangist in order to produce proper nadham.
